I think you might be underestimating the volumes that are involved here chris.
Good daytraders sell at the top of a spike, instos take days or weeks to unwind their positions.
Anyway my .049 gap just got filled - hope we don't close lower.
If my insto assumption is correct, then we may see an easing of the selling tomorrow - they are smart enough to know when to use the accelerator and when to apply the brake.
I'll be selling to my fellow chooks when Mr. Insto puts the brakes on.
