    There seems to no recognition that the recent severe weather events were more a function of geographical location rather than their size.

    If the cloudburst over Toowoomba had occurred several miles to the west, the damage would have been minimal. If cyclone Yasi had struck Cairns the damage would have been much worse.

    So the effect that weather has is more a function of where it occurs than how big it is. That's not rocket science and is rather obvious, - but nobody picks up on it?

    Lets say for the sake of argument, we can influence the weather. But unless we can also influence where weather occurs, it will be futile.

    I haven't heard any politician tell us of his plans to control where significant weather occurs.
