I'd like to warn hotcopperites who travel on international holidays/business booked through Flight Centre. I don't want to make a big deal about it just raise awareness of what they might 'possibly' be up to. ie Taking money off you when it could be sitting in your bank account. In my case I'm talking nearly $5000.
I booked a flight for travel beginning in December 2005 and they demanded full payment as this was requested by the airline not them. This turned out to be false information. Out of interest, I rung the airline regarding my booking/payment and they told me that their reservation/payment policy is that no deposit is even required. Full payment is necessary 15 days before departure for bookings made 30days or more in advance.
It is advantageous to make full payment at an early stage ONLY to avoid increases in fuel surcharges and or taxes.
