Similar to Opes Prime you will be an unsecured creditor with most if not all CFD providers if something goes wrong

This is in relation to funds deposited with the CFD provider and the value of any open position.

Don't mean to be rude but anyone trading CFDs who is not aware of this maybe should not be trading CFDs.

This is a risk that is associated with CFD trading and can be managed by as Sparkler pointed out not leaving surplus funds in the CFD account and ensure only a small portion of the funds you have to invest are invested in CFDs

If you have $200K to invest, it would be foolish to put the whole $200K in a CFD account. Sure if things go right for you then you could potentially make an absolute furtune but if things go bad you will potentially lose the lot.

But to have $20K of the $200K in CFDs menas the potential loss is not any different to a very bad trade and still gives ample opputunity to make good gains considering the leverage available.

This risk in most cases is not a reason to not use CFDs but is a risk that should like all risks be properly managed
