Overwhelming people as they arrive and last second subliminal messaging is pathetic and unnecessary in our election process. When that is sorted get rid of preferences. Imagine the Olympics where it wasn't first across the line who wins. Imagine if the faster runner, the one who crossed the line first was awarded the silver medal because the 3rd place holder passed their preferences to the second faster runner who then got given gold. Love to meet the genius who came up with that one.

Seriously, though - a lot of people use the how to vote cards as they just want to vote for a Party and have no idea who will be on the ballot paper...
