Today's Western Australian Newspaper laid bare the shocking truth about WA Labor's Cook government's performance. Too lengthy to detail here but here's a summary.
1)Headline: HEADACHES MOUNT FOR SPIN DOCTOR (Cook)
2) Cook in hot water (he just doesn't realise it!)
3) Cook dragged under by McGowan's legacy!
4) Banksia Hill Detention Centre disaster (leading to death and violent protests)
5) Women's and babies Hospital disputed location fiasco.
6) Rape of patient (silenced for 1 year!) and a death at the Perth Children's Hospital (under Cook's watch as hopeless Health Minister).
7) McGowan's disastrous plan to shut Collie coal power stations by 2030 despite lack of investment allocation in impossible alternative renewable power, thereby risking on-going blackouts for Perth.
8) Metronet ballooning cost blow-out from $3b to now $11-12b (Similar in scale to Hydro 2).
9) Cook, the unwanted spin doctor (even by his own Party) is flailing around from one disaster to another. The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act Amendments being one of his failed decisions to support McGowan's disastrous policy changes.
10) Cook is in as much trouble in health where his accumulated failings as the former Minister----as well as those of McGowan as Premier---have coalesced to create widespread dysfunction! He has misled both the public and Parliament on the reason for the decision to move the maternity hospital to Murdoch despite a depth of clinician's opposition and independently assessed time lines to build a new hospital differing significantly from Cook's assertions.
11) WA's power prices were the highest in the country in the September quarter, up nearly 30% y.o.y. highlighting the promised, but illusory, renewables transition! 70% of WA's power is still from coal and gas.
12) Nurses and Police disputes are on-going with consequent low morale and further indicating the ineptitude of the current Labor government.
Roger Cook is either drowning or a dead man walking!!!
The scene is definitely set for a massive Liberal resurgence. Thankfully!
