Was It Designed?, page-1878

The question presupposes an answer and the answer Mr Gordon has is that God designed reality then winked reality into existence like Samantha on Bewitched and because the world is so unfathomable and life so profound we humans should just accept a religious fable rather than honouring our birthright to test and understand reality.

What Mr Gordon does not comprehend is that an eternal, unchanging God scenario can't one day be a Creator and the next day not, or visa versa. If God is eternal and unchanging and the Creator then He has Created eternally because it must be part of His eternal state and this precludes design because design suggests something didn't exist before it was conceived. But an eternal God can not conceive from one moment to the next if He is all-knowing because there's nothing more to know. All is known eternally and all states of conception and Creation must exist simultaneously eternally without beginning because time does not exist for God so change can not exist for God.

As for evolution, to a timeless God billions of years of evolution to form a human is no different to no time at all because God, so the story goes, is not subject to time.

So, was it designed, only if God is not the God described by religion.

As for transmutation / evolution we know this to be a truth. What we don't know is if along with the natural drivers of evolution there is a will and purpose working at subliminal levels to science that also direct outcomes.

I don't mind the concept of Intelligent Design so much because they still tend to unlock many of the extraordinary details of some phenomena, it's just their conclusion that lets them down. It still might be some mysterious force of God, but not it any way we can put into words and not via the rejection of evolution.

At this point a JW might ask, so what do you think, did God wink Creation into instant existence, or did God evolve Creation into slowly into existence?
