Far from being troubled by unknows, unknows are the bread and butter of science which for scientists requires a continuous reassessment of their position.
Hindu cosmology does not imply a first cause; in fact it does away with the need for one.
As I said in a previous post the universe came into being as a result of matter and energy being what they are without the need for a first cause. I also said that we don't know whether this outcome is unusual because we don't know of alternatives.
I'm not being tired down by religious dogma - I don't insist on some sort of intelligent first cause, with no better explanation that there is no explanation.
The more science understands the more it realizes that a first cause is an impediment to understanding rather than a help.
