This ancient historical stuff is irrelevant because what is now Israel was Palestine before 1948 and local Jews, Arabs and others were all citizens under the British Colonial regime.
The issue is; Was the Israelis justified in harassing the Palestinian Arabs and hoarding them into the Gaza Strip and the West Bank post 1949.
Most fair-minded people would say no and that either:
(a) The Palestinian Arabs should be considered Israelis and be allowed to vote in Israeli elections
or
(b) That the Palistinians are allocated a fair share of Israel as their own country.
This eventually will happen, I believe, because as time goes on guerrilla warfare
will find ways to beat conventional warfare, but in the interim neither the Israelis nor the
Palestinians will likely have peace. I guess it is the stuff of tragedy.
The Irish found a way in 1919 to 1921 to force the British empire, armed to the teeth
with conventional hardware and skilled up from WW1, into a truce and eventual freedom
(at least 26 counties) by using urban guerrilla tactics and paralysing the economy.
