Danny, CFU clearly had a motive - they needed to announce something so that the CR wasn't a complete flop. They announced it a few days before the CR opened.
They spruiked the sale of 1000 units, with 50% payment upfront on a take or pay basis (so there was a penalty if the buyer didn't take). They said the deal with with SI whose partner and shareholder was a reputable business in the Baltics.
What they didn't say was that the deal wasn't worth the paper it was written on, because the deal was with a shelf company with no assets and with no guarantees from its Baltic partner/shareholder.
