Well said quickthinker. The utter contempt the media has for people is bewildering. I'm amazed with the number of journos on twitter who post pure vitriol and hate. When the Covington Kids were wrongly accused through selective editing, journos for well known media companies were showing just as much hate as the anonymous twitter troll. What's worse is that so many never retracted their lies, nor did they apologise. You are 100% correct in what you said. They are damaging their own credibility and their long term future. Objectivity and journalistic integrity is a thing of the past. Today's US media is not about reporting the news, it is about moulding the news to suit its readership or viewership.
The NY Times changed its heading recently because of a readership backlash. They dared to say that "Trump spoke of unity v racism" in his speech about the spate of shootings. Readers weren't happy with that so the NY Times changed it to instead be critical of Trump. That says everything about the state of today's media
