Well done to Robi Sen for authoring that article.
'...current law treats drones very similarly to manned aircraft, such as a passenger plane. The consequence is that it is currently illegal to interfere with the flight of drone, just like a plane. Right now, most drone countermeasures — such as net guns, jammers, firearms and cyber-based systems — violate these laws.'
If correct (and I expect Robi Sen would know) this may explain the lack of orders for the Mesmer system thus far. It appears its use is not yet legal. Hopefully, the counter drone industry can encourage governments to introduce the necessary legislation before they are encouraged by an act of terrorism.
