Sydney - Friday - December 19: (RWE Aust Business News) -
Fluorotechnics (ASX:FLS) has won a tender to be a supplier of pre-cast
gels and fluorescent dyes to the largest proteomics service provider in
north east England, the North East Proteome Analysis Facility (NEPAF).
The facility services small to mid pharmaceutical and biotech
companies that previously lacked access to proteomics tools and
technologies, and is looking to expand its reach internationally.
NEPAF will use Fluorotechnics' standard vertical technique,
horizontal electrophoresis gels and Flat-Top Tower units for high
throughput 2D electrophoresis.
NEPAF is at two locations, Newcastle University and Durham
University.
It began operations in July, has several clients and services
include biomarker discovery and validation, protein analysis and de novo
sequencing.
It is equipped with six mass spectrometers, 1D and 2D gel
electrophoresis platforms, PAGE scanning and image-analysis equipment,
nano-liquid chromatography systems and a reverse protein-array system.
