Strong pre-clinical data in lupus animal model (3 studies)
>significantly reduced kidney pathology
>improved survival
>prevented cutaneous lupus
>reduced renal and circulating levels of key pro-inflammatory mediators (TNF-a, IL-6 and MCP-1) reduced CD4+ T cells and auto-reactive T cells and increased the number of activated DC (critical in the establishment of self tolerance)
