Like a few other posters has commented, best email the company.
My guess (and I could be wrong) is the transition from ALK to a separate listed company in ASM has taxation implications or some other form of complicated ASX company governance which precludes you receiving the shares and instead they are sold.
There are a number of different options you could take, but I can't offer that sort of advice. You should be able to buy on market after listing though.
Id wish u luck, but i don't believe in it, only probabilities.
