Here's some commentary I received from an acquaintance:

"Even though the Dow fell over 170 points last night, it closed at the important 8,300.

My gut feel tells me the Dow will jump back tonight. Maybe a 200 points to 300 points rise.

It is just too important to the US economy to allow the the Dow to keep falling. For example pension funds will be in trouble if their share investments collapse from these levels.

So Obama, Geithner, Bernanke and co will do everything possible to ensure the Dow does fine from now.

Remember, the Dow is up more than 20%. That means we are in a new Dow bull market. I expect this bull market to continue."
