I'm pretty sure everyone here knows that the movie is based on the Bre-Ex fiasco, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

The thing is, though, Bre-Ex made fortunes for many people who bought and sold at the right time. The only people we hear about are the ones who lost their life savings. It's unfortunate, and I mean that sincerely, but the playing field was equal for everyone, including insiders since the deception applied to everyone.

P.S. I certainly don't condone salting, lying, Ponzi schemes, misleading statements, or anything short of full disclosure. Just saying that sometimes people need to understand themselves and their decisions. It's a zero sum game with or without lies.
