Have you ever tried getting developments through council? They are an absolute joke - I've had mine in council for over 2 years to approve 5 more units on the back half - will be the last time I ever deal with councils - I heard somewhere that it takes between 6-15 years to develop a piece of farmland to having a house completed on it (subdivided, zoned etc.). If houses were to drop 40%-50%, there would not be one development in Australia that would be viable. Even if you take 50% off the value of the land, councils/engineers/draftsmen would have to drop their price the same = deep recession, if not depression. Anyone else had dramas with councils/governments?
