The development came as Consolidated's other suitor, Territory Resources Ltd TTY.AX, prepared to make a revised rival offer this week, the newspaper said in an unsourced report.
Territory said last week it may improve its bid. The position of Ukrainian group Pivat, a major Consolidated shareholder, may be crucial to the bid.
Pallinghurst's offer values Consolidated at A$753 million at Friday's close. Territory has made a hostile bid of cash and scrip.
