I agree, sea water would seem to be the obvious choice, but the desalination process to produce a large volume of water is not trivial. I wonder how the desalination would be achieved, reverse osmosis, distillation? This process would likely be quite energy hungry, reducing the already poor efficiency of Hydrogen production from h2O. As the energy for desalination of seawater and production of Hydrogen will be via by solar and wind, then the expense in terms of carbon is low, but I am unsure about the efficiency.
Does anyone know if there are any large sources of fresh water in the area or available via pipelines? Maybe they can use the seawater without desalination.
I (we) will need to do some research as to how PRL is planning to produce the Hydrogen from H2O.
