Struggling to see how this is good news for SPT.
It will compete for instalment volume processed via Mastercard CCs.
A consumer will now have an option to use issuer provided instalment on MC provided by TSYS or SPT for purchase - assuming that both options are available at checkout.
The article says this TSYS move is complementary to the MC suite of merchant APIs that SPT will be assisting with but I would like someone to explain just how it is complementary....
selfishly, I hoped SPT would be the only company capable of providing BNPL on credit cards but this no longer looks to be the case.....
hope I am missing something here and I'm wrong but time will tell.
