I agree they would be alot more involved with these partnerships. Both positive and negative things to work through due to added complexities. When it does happen it will be a bigger deal through validation to other banks. (or not validation but proof of it being a necessary offering to stay competitive/relevant)
If their customers are screaming for it due to splitit being available on all other cards but theirs they may have no choice but to offer it to keep sticky. Maybe they are just testing to see if splitit and the idea of credit card installments will actually become a global player first and doing some small testing on the side for when it becomes time.
The bigger splitit gets elwewhere and more available to other card networks the more they twist their arm.
