What do you not understand about the fact that ALL banks will offer a BNPL product exactly like this. Essentially they all are $1000 small loan accounts linked to a digital card. Citi use Mastercard for this hence the "used wherever mastercard accepted" Wording is a marketing ploy as other BNPL have the problem of needing to be used at an accepting (onboarded) merchant. They all have the requirements of being paid back in installments and all have additional fees and options. Bank covers upfront and charges fees. Its a small loan. Thats what people are being fooled into with marketing. Small loans...BNPL.
