Generally interim CEOs don’t have much fire in the belly to execute on plans. Also it doesn’t have the market cap and longevity for management to have swapped senior leaders within the organisation. If there’s not much stability at the top they need charismatic visionary leaders to execute on plan. Otherwise all you get are execs who spend more energy being politicians and or safeguarding their backsides , than spending energy on steering the business.
