just activated my StepPay
only to realise it is just another credit card where we pay the balances earlier compared to credit cards, depending on credit card repayments. first instalment is paid immediately and next 3 instalments are paid out within 55 days - 14 days * 4 fortnight's 56 days which is still the same interest free period on a normal credit card offering.
So the main competition or only competition for Splitit is BNPL offering instalments for more that pay in 4 instalments.
as a lot of you been saying, it is a matter of merchant adoption of the splitit solution and credit cards are probably not going away anytime soon. it is merely a battle of credit cards vs BNPL instalments or credit cards vs credit.
