Sooo not only do you need to be FCA approved to be a BNPL in the UK (with new regulations), but if your a merchant who wants to allow a BNPL at your store you need to be an approved credit broker (or equivalent)
lol! so the accountability will be on the BNPL group to responsibly do a spot check that the person they are lending do is reasonably able to pay on the spot -- ouch! this hurts them a bit as they all boosting no credit check required and instant sign up and credit...
Of course SPT shouldn't have any trouble -- haha this is gold!
This news should really be good for SP?
../problem is could be 2 years to get these rules through...(or if covid finishes early - I suspect which ever comes earliest )
