It's much simpler if you get your info outside of HotCopper. SPT have never once said or indicated they are involved in the Visa/MC BNPL offerings directly/behind the scenes like some suggest. Certain users on here have been posting for months about how SPT is "about to announce some mega amazing new thing" (was american express, then keep posting any visa/mc instalment news over and over).

One of the best places to get info is in the shareholder meetings, especially the Q&A portions. What have SPT said?

• In the AGM when John was asked if MC BNPL was a threat to SPT. He said SPT is still complementary to those offerings (which suggests in addition to, not part of).
• In the Q2 2021 webinar when Brad was asked about it, Visa/MC are making APIs for people to use. SPT are a CONSUMER of those APIs. They are one of the few partners on the merchant side.
• Q3 2021 webinar (which hasn't been uploaded yet so going off memory), Ben answered a similar question and answered that SPT was working generally/broadly with Visa/MC. He seemed to suggest it was an ongoing/broad relationship and not any specific single important thing they were currently working on.

John's main focus is to have a clearer message for shoppers and merchants about SPT's value. He wants to simplify the messaging and his goal is to onboard more merchants. Brad also said their goal was more merchants before leaving. If Visa/MC BNPL rollouts are going to use SPT why would SPT need to find its own merchants so badly? Wouldn't the focus be on simply making sure the tech is 100% robust and performant and let Visa/MC do the onboarding.
