Can u imagine what would happen if there had been a 400 point drop? There is no way u could sell - just no way. Brokers would only be taking calls from their top clients, online brokers (etrade particularly) would malfunction and not allow trades of ANY kind. You would just have to sit and hear about it on the news. Internet access would also be severely restricted as it was yesterday, due to high demand.
