"Is $8G too much to spend on a watch, itching to upgrade my Tag Monza Chronograph that cost me $5G?"

For a once in a life time purchase $8k is in my opinion not too much to pay for a limited high quality watch. The Tag you have is 2003 version???
To be bored with it now and spend $8k on something else is definitely not necessary.
Your current Tag will improve with age, so to say. You've had it 8years(if purchased in 2003). My respect for quality goods is that you can say it's x years old(the more the better), still stylish and working spot on. The new Monza out is 'ok' but the 2003 model would walk all over it for the above reasons. And of course, the original 1930's model would walk all over today's models.

I don't have a watch because I have 'nothing to wear with it'. I don't think everyday t shirts or jeans will do it justice. If I worked in a 'suit' or wined and dined alot then the watch would have an atmosphere to be part of.

May I ask why you want to 'up grade'?
