I'm not keen on chunky watches, I don't care if they're worth $100k lol
The Rolex Explorer II looks good. Has not got gimmick stop watch etc, hence no lugs either side of the crown for you to bump off. Let's face it, if you were going to time an event you would have a digital handheld stop watch.
A Omega Sea Master Aqua Terra looks stylish, a good looking dress watch. But you get no date!

Depends what you're into to. I prefer leather band on steel. This may not be practical for a watch worn constantly. Depends on your wrist. A chunky watch needs a broad wrist as a platform. Depends on your job, heavy menial work is more suited to a cheaper all steel watch with a sapphire face.
That's why I don't own one. It wouldn't last the distance. If I was loaded, then maybe, because if it broke or was lost with everyday life I would just buy another. There are time pieces everywhere you look so I would instinctively look at them before my watch.
As you state, you obviously like watches, it seems you may have a collection.
