Awesome news on the water allocation front for the final allocation announcement for this financial year. 100% allocation for the Murray system.
The volume of water available to irrigators in the Murray and Goulburn systems is significantly more than has been available for many years at this time of the season. It is expected that more water will be carried over than in the past, providing better prospects for next season. "With this being the final allocation for the 2009/10 season, all improvements from now will be reserved to meet next season's commitments," Mr Hannan said. "We still need to build reserves to meet next season's operating requirements, so the outlook for allocations and operating conditions to deliver carryover again depends on future inflows."
