I have an electronic copy of that paper, all double columned, single spaced, small font 10 pages of it.

Too much scrolling and back scrolling to read it on screen ... I'll print it at work next week and have a careful read.

One thing did jump out and grab me about the 1999 to 2002 Chinchilla trial though ... there was 100% availability of syngas production during the 30 month trial ... sounds a pretty reliable first effort to me ... one would think Walker/Blinderman have made refinements since then.

On reflection, I think a characteristic of the 4 LNC gasifiers to date and the 1 CNX gasifier to date is that their operation was much more short term than Chinchilla 1999-2002 and I am pretty sure none were continuous ie the syngas was not produced at 100% availability ... dont mind being corrected on either of these points.

UCG scalability for commercialisation is about controlling multiple "metrononic" (as in metranone ... sp?) syngas reactors to create a consistent quantity and quality of deliverable fuel/feedstock. Suitable control systems could well be a driver for scalability.

It must be the "finer" points like mentioned above driving CXYs confidence to target 200MW as a first commercialisation project.

    Cheers
