say the government took your advice and lowered the dam to 75% capacity, before the start of this wet season that you have predicted now that it is clear for all to see.....but instead imagine that the wet season didnt arrive, just like it hadnt for the last 10 years of drought.....now where do you stand?
you have a dam that is well below full capacity, it is below capacity because you released water in expectation of a wet season that didnt arrive......in fact you released 2 years worth of water supply to lower the dam to 75% in expectation of this rainfall.....now you are facing another summer of below-average rainfall and perhaps another 10 years of drought.....but with 2 less years supply of water in your storage for people to drink
i suspect that should the above situation have occurred, you would have been on hotcopper stating "Why was the dam allowed to be lowered to 75% full before the start of summer, when we havent had any summer rain for the past 10 years? Another major stuff up from the QLD govt"
