Unfortunately, all the water behind the Hume Dam is owned and payed for by irrigators and industry, so at times, the amount and timing of water releases doesn't make sense and we the Albury ratepayers don't get any say into how the water is used, ... except what is allocated to A C Council.
If, for some reason, the weir wall did burst, the water level in Albury would reach the top of St Matthews Church spire in Kiewa Street as it flowed south.
