Hubby has been quietly reminding me to water the garden out of the 2 tanks we have on my studio. The water isn't as pristine as the house tank but OK for the garden and toilets. However this involves using different hoses that don't stretch as far as I'd like them to. So, the house tank gets a bit of a hammering. It's been dry this year and we've had visitors for one reason or another for months so even more water has been used. You can't really ask visitors to use the outdoor shower that is fed from the studio tanks. So I get up this morning, make a coffee and go to check my emails. The screensaver is now a graph of our water usage with a projected exhaustion date of Oct 18th. Well that stopped me in my tracks as that's only 5 weeks away. It's amazing that one graph can achieve so much more than all of the polite reminders. I've even rooted out water saving crystals today that I bought ages ago and never got round to using. A graph is worth more than a thousand words.
