Im sure Ill get shot down for adding this. But an old Aboriginal fellow I once new from part of my mispent youth in Alice Springs, was quite adamant that one day "when the Barrumundi ran out", the inland see would return.
Yeah I know, quaint but not very logical!
Anyway I think we should be pushing for more trees personally.
Gum trees are a big help for rising salt and tree cover I would think must go some way to retaining moisture at ground level for later release to the atmosphere.
