The desalination here in WA has the potential to create more problems than it will solve
Not only in power consumption but the fact they intend to pump heavy saline reidue back into Cockburn Sound
Currently WA sewage is treated to something like back to 90% pure water which is pumped out to sea.
would have been cheaper and more enviromentally sound to further treat waist water, pump it back into the gound water system, where most of our water in Perth comes from and recycle it.
