You can't blame the government for every aspect of the drought. We are also to blame for our total disregard for the dry continent in which we live.
Why did some people use their hoses to clean their driveways?
Why did we use plants that are totally unsuitable to our dry climate? And why do some nurseries promote these plants?
Why do people plant lawns with grass that is more suitable to a Northern European climate? Or why do some people still plant lawns at all?
Why do some parents still do not emphasise the need for their children to have less frequent and shorter showers?
But I still can't understand why the Victorian Government still carries on the farce of 3.5 restrictions for Melbourne whilst elsewhere (with some notable exceptions on the West Coast) it is no less than 3 with quite a few rural districts well below that level.
