Perhaps SHV's foray into Western Australia was ahead of it's time.

As I understand it the main problem related to the excessive cost of power and labour.

The land on which SHV developed it's orchards included some land that was not suitable for planting so perhaps had they been doing it now that land could have been used for a solar farm with a battery array to provide those orchards with cheap energy and the excess power sold into the grid.

Nah, those orchards were only ever intended for mug MIS investors as even the land that was planted out was marginal at best.
