All this talk of "hard jobs". What rubbish!
(Most) politicians at CEO level? No way. They are not held to or accountable for their decisions in the same way.
Cost effectiveness is what's important.
GOOD politicians who truly represent their constituents and advance society for the betterment of Australia deserve good salaries.
Mediocre politicians who perform poorly and achieve nothing other than filling a job title deserve relatively little.
Corrupt and dishonest politicians deserve absolutely NOTHING!
(A bunch of politicians who promise many things they never achieve; including a surplus for 6 years which NEVER eventuates despite constant reassurances also deserve nothing in ongoing benefits after leaving the job IMO. Same goes for decisions to spend billions on plans to stop illegal boats, which never stop.)
