I agree with the general point that politicians should be well remunerated, but I suspect we are not in the majority perseng.........

You are assuming that pollies get in on their merit frasier, not always the case unfortunately,lots get in via union affiliations in the case of lab, the preferential voting system in the case of greens and independants and in the case libs through the old boys network and other means.Not all pollies are worth their salt,lots imo are in for the free ride on the gravy train as we have witnessed in the last few weeks.Most people have to justify or be worth the money they earn, not so politicians.Frasier take a look at the debt we are in for a country of plenty and the state of the country and parliamentary disorder in general,ponder for a moment and then come back and tell hc members that pollies are worth more.In saying that I would admit probably some are worth their salaries but I would need serious research to name them.
