for the last federal election, watso was a strong contributer to the politics thread, as there were a few issues that watso felt strongly about, and after allowing for the lesser parties, who watso always puts ahead of the major parties, watso gave his final preference to the labs . not that watso's vote counted for all that much (for the lower house - which forms the government) as watso lives in a blue ribbon liberal seat (federal)

for those who follow watso's odd rambling on this thread, then watso will describe his voting day

in the morning, watso wandered around to visit his ageing mother to have a few cups of coffee. watso's mother mentioned that he could vote on the way home. gosh, watso had not even made up his mind who he was going to vote for - but nevertheless went to the local primary school, and collected all the "how to vote" pamphlets. watso's first criteria is to take note of who the religious groups are, and to give them his last choice for no other reason that watso is an atheist, and thinks that religion and politics do not mix.

anyway, watso collected his voting papers and for the white slip, he gave the religious parties his last votes, then gave the independents his first votes, then the greens, and then the libs -then the labs, and as mentioned the religious ones. watso lives in a marginal seat, and his vote could be important. watso would laugh his head of, if his vote was the one that counted, and which determined the government

for the pink slip - well the same thinking - the religious parties last . watso started at the bottom of the slip, and first of all numbered in all the independents. watso has no idea what their policies are, but they got watso's vote - and the lower down the slip, they were then that worked in their favour (donkey vote in reverse). eventually watso had to determine between the libs and the labs - and again watso voted for the libs, and once again, the lower down the list the candidate was, then watso favoured that candidate..

heh heh - after taking into account the preferential voting system (which watso supports), then it will take ages for watso's vote to be determined

anyway, that was watso's day for the state election. now for more info - well watso rides the bike but the bike got a flat tyre yesterday, and watso could not be bothered to fix it up - but watso also liked the idea of a cleanskin chardonay so he did a 7km walk (there and back) to buy a bottle

unlike the federal election, watso could not really care who wins this state election
