sadly half price increases in direct proportion to full price .. smoked cod used to be $10/kg - now $15/kg .. and the rules of mathematics are such that half price goes from $5/kg to $7.50/kg ..
anyway, watso asked the pretty chick , (who was serving behind the counter) if he could have the remaining cod, which were swimming around in the container - and mentioned that they looked better swimming at half price .. anyway half price = $5.60 .. so what did watso do with the $5.60 that he saved??..
mmm bananas were $2.50/kg.. so watso could have bought just over 2kg of bananas (as it was, watso bought 3.7kg) .. or maybe watso used the savings to buy 750ml of australian tawny @$5..
for what it is worth, but the chicky server girl had a lovely smile and she told watso that she cooks the cod in a frypan with a little oil .. mmm watso was on the verge of asking her to be his wife (and not just one of 20 mistresses )
