a case in point - watso has presently prepared everything for a solar cooking event .. for the meat - watso took out (from the fridge - not the freezer).. two packets of vacuum packed beef schnitzel .. one packet was only 50% rtc - but dated 8-9-18(watso still has plenty more from that period in time) .. the other packet was 75% off and more recent - ie 10-11-19..
watso already had plenty of 50% rtc- but the opportunity of topping up at 75% rtc was irresistible ..
anyway, watso has been testing the life of vacuum sealed beef and from memory has had meat which has been about 6 months past the used by date - so why not test the limits - and go for 16 months - and there was nothing wrong with the meat when he unpacked up.
the meat has been diced up and is presently marinating in the fridge
