watso's LUCKY day

what an amazing day .. a lovely day, and watso gets on his pushie for a laze cycle to the shops ,,,

and woolies have a LUCKY product range (sultanas, currants and raisins) for half price ..

last week, watso was at aldi, to buy 1kg of sultanas@$5.. there were none in stock - so watso bought 1kg of raisins@$8... anyway 400 grams of lucky raisins were only $2.75..

watso has great value breakfasts .. cheap generic rolled oats ($1.35/$1.40 for 750 gm) .. with bananas (which watso buys cheap, peels them and stores them in the freezer) and a handful of sultanas/raisins/currants ... oh and milk powder ..

more LUCKY good news .. but spud shed had 2x5kg packs of carrots for $4... mmm watso has/had 10kg of carrots to use ... mmmm plenty of carrots in his curries and mmm mmm and carrot soup ..

for watso's carrot soup - it is sauteed onions, diced carrots and always cheap generic pasta .. lol lol the other day, watso tossed in a can of bake beans .. and watso had minestrone soup...

this morning, watso made his normal carrot soup - but tossed in a handful of raisins... but found an old can of "spaghetti with meatballs" .. and tossed that in.. lol lol and for good measure found some stale bread in the fridge .. broke that down into small pieces - and tossed that in ..

onions used in watso's soups/curries are from spudshed - where 2x2kg bags are $3 (ie 75c/kg)

mmm mmm carrots at 40c/kg and onions at 75c/kg, lovely winter's day, pleasant cycling ..
