well that was an interesting recipe ...

for what it is worth but watso cooks his rice in a 500ml alladin vacuum flask with a 3 inch mouth (lol lol measured with watso's STANLEY lever lock tape measure).. and with no extra insulation... (ok inside a beanie).. which would probably be perfect for making ice cream - (maybe banana would also be nice) ..

watso has worked out the best way to cook rice in the vacuum flask - and have not seen it on youtube or on the net ..

    1. wash/soak rice for about 5 minutes in water (just from the tap).. then put rice in vacuum flask..

    2. lol lol - just cover the heating element in the kettle (so bit less than 500ml) - and bring to the boil (will take about 90 seconds) ..

3.. add hot water to vacuum flask - shake a bit - lay on side.. again 5 minutes is good enough..

4.. drain hot water from flask- (but retain in another flask - will use that to clean up later) ..

5.. replace with fresh lot of hot water (and add a few drops of vegetable oil and some tumeric powder) .... again lay flask on the side

after about an hour, the rice is cooked (guess it all depends on the quality of the flask) ..

system works real good with brown basmati rice ....

watso paid $10 for a stanley flask from the op shop - and made in china .. .. mmm watso still has to test it - but is not too hopeful after reading the comments at this link

ahh the ones with the glass liners - they are probably worth buying from the op shop.. for what it is worth but watso picked up (from kerbside) about a 1.3litres TIGER glass lined vacuum flask (with dedicated water pour spout) .. anyway the flask works well - and watso looked online about the product

mmm enough for one post - might post more some other time ..
