Up until this year I ran a construction business with half a dozen employees and made considerable profits and provided a good lifestyle for myself and my wife..
Post covid has been reasonably rough.. The big build definitely sucked the pool of potential workers, and those who did apply wanted unreasonable amounts of money.
I’ve definitely noticed a change in the last few months though and the industry as a whole is cooling. Those who changed their business models first and who have deep pockets will come out stronger, but many people have given up and changed careers.
Hopefully your son and his partners are starting to get their projects where they’re not absorbing post covid costs with pre covid estimations.
Nothing lasts forever though.
