You seem to have a good understanding of technical mining issues.

With the shallow deposits at SH, is it not relatively easier to adjust mine design if necessary? Presumably if you have picked this up, then the PLA engineers should also be aware of this.

As for miners from the local community, I think the SA mining industry is different from Australia. Miners there are cheap and traditionally mining operations rely more on brute manuaal labour than technology, skill etc. This would be impossible with the Australian wage structure.
