In all due respect GKara, people are investing in GCN because they consider the project to be shared.

I'm sceptical about the advertising revenue that will be generated, if I was an advertiser I wouldn't choose to go through this type of advertising because realistically, who holds the phone to their face while ads are being played.

If the information is beneficial and specific to the location it could be great. Like those Coupon businesses.

Imagine city offers and discounts being broadcast on the phones. Get to Flinders Street in the morning, check out the free Wireless and see that The Flower Drum has 40% off today's menu if you confirm in the next half hour, or that the Melbourne Aquarium will only be $5 for the first 50 people to confirm.
With a high turnover of people you could run a different promotion every half hour, or have a few promotions running at the same time.

In a situation like that I would check my phone. I would even let another ad load up in between promotion and confirmation of my Flower Drum lunch.
