I hear what you are saying about Breitburn, but they do have quite a lot of hedging in place which will protect them in the short to medium term.
For 2015, 75% of production is hedged at US$93 a barrel. For 2016, 64% is hedged at US$89 a barrel.
Whoever put those hedges in place deserves a pat on the back.
